PLEASE CALL FOR CURRENT DATES, TIMES AND LOCATIONS Basic Photography Learn to "make" a photograph instead of "taking" a photograph. This class will teach you basic photography from how to hold a camera to how a picture is composed. It doesn't matter whether you shoot digital or film. Create photographs that your friends and family will want to look at. If you have a camera you can adjust apertures and shutter speeds with, you can take control of your photography. Let the people whose motto is "Where Photography and Fun are Developed" teach you the difference between a shutter speed and an aperture. Taught by people that know cameras, this five week course will demonstrate and explain how you and your camera can take better pictures. Bring your camera that allows creative control. Photography Classes Taught on Site Using your 35mm SLR This class teaches the basics of using a 35mm SLR camera. Each student will need to bring a 35mm SLR camera to each class -- sorry, no point-and-shoots! Several classes are taught each Spring and Fall through either the North Kansas City or Parkhill Community Education programs. The classes are taught on-site at Photographx, one evening a week from 7 pm to 9 pm for five weeks. Owner Mitch Pence teaches the class. Please note that these classes are limited in size to allow more one-on-one instruction and usually fill to capacity. Consult class schedules or contact the North Kansas City or Parkhill school districts for more information. Developing and Printing in a Black & White Darkroom Learn to print your own B&W pictures in a darkroom during this class taught in two parts over two weeks. In the first class, you will develop your own roll of B&W film. We recommend that you shoot a roll of Kodak T-Max 400 for the class. Using your developed negatives, you will print a contact sheet in the second week. The classes are taught on-site in Photographx Unlimited's rental darkroom. The class is usually taught once in the Spring and once in the Fall, and you may register for this class at Photographx. Lighting Classes with Gregg Hejna Gregg Hejna of Hejna Studio & Gallery will be providing classes on lighting. This 3 class course will take you from the beginning lighting through advanced portrait lighting.
